Welcome to the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management!

LASHRM is dedicated to advancing the field of Human Resources. We proudly support the 2000 HR pros statewide who represent companies and industries making an impact to the Louisiana economy. Our local chapters provide education and networking in New Orleans, Covington, Baton Rouge, Houma, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Monroe, and Shreveport.

Now that 2020 is behind us, we need to take a moment to reflect. And breathe. Like no other year in recent memory, 2020 propelled the HR profession to the front of the battle lines. LASHRM and our local chapters provided programming specifically targeting the pandemic that addressed new legislation, crisis management, and maintaining culture in the new world.

As incredible as it sounds, the global pandemic was not the only thing that changed the world in 2020.  LASHRM introduced a quarterly webinar series that concentrated on creating a more diverse and inclusive environment. Organizations must be both diverse and inclusive to fully tap into the value that employees can bring to the table. We believe the HR community is in a unique position, better than any other profession on the planet, to make real change for employees.

"Talent Acquisition specialists must ensure we are intentional about recruiting from diverse pools of talent. Employee Relations/Generalist experts must do their part to ensure every employee has a positive work experience and feels included. Those in Compensation and Benefits can work to remunerate employees equitably, addressing gender and racial disparities. And Inclusion & Diversity professionals play a critical role in ensuring organizational accountability by equipping People Managers with resources and tools to effectively manage an increasingly diverse workforce."                                                                                                                                  -Johnny C Taylor, CEO SHRM
